The Potter’s Studio was designed to house the works of a potter and welder, as well as provide a carport for the occupants and covered outdoor workspace. The studio was to fit in a tight location on an existing site by the ocean. The studio was an open concept with heavy glulam beams and columns.
Natural daylighting and views were a must have requirement so the design incorporated as many windows as structurally feasible. The wood windows were custom crafted to fit precisely between the glulam structure – a delicate on site procedure. The finished studio provides an amazing workspace nestled in a lush oceanside oasis providing retreat for artistic contemplation.
